Transmitters of this series are intended for measuring both relative overpressure and underpressure in liquid and gas media of a non-aggressive character. They are intended especially for instrument technology, in particular for applications working with low supply voltage. Thanks to their own low consumption, they can be used in applications supplied from batteries. These transmitters are not suitable for applications in the field of power engineering, heating, waterworks engineering, etc.
The casing is made from duralumin with elox coating. The connecting thread has dimensions M12x1.5; it is possible to order additionally reductions for threads G1/2” or M20x1.5. The measured media comes into contact with these materials: silicon, duralumin, silicon rubber, plastic polyetherimid.
Electric connection is mass-realized by a miniature sealed arrested connector according to DIN 43650C with a cable bushing size PG7 which is intended for cable dimensions up to 6.5mm. It is possible to deliver transmitters with a cable outlet made to a special order.
The pressure sensor itself consists of a silicon membrane with a semi-conductor scanning resistors.
For applications for liquid conductive
media it is necessary to take into account that the measuring membrane is not galvanically separated from the transmitter supply. The transmitter casing is not electrically connected with the system and is connected to the earth pin of the connector.
Signal from the sensor is strengthened, compensated, calibrated and transferred to the output voltage. Transmitters are mass-produced with the output signal 0.5÷4.5V. By arrangement it is possible to adjust also different values within the supply voltage which can be in the range 5÷15V direct-current. The idle current consumption is ca. 0.5mA! The transmitter has only partial protection against reversal of poles of the supply voltage, consisting of a diode connected in the closing direction to the power supply.
The transmitter is adjusted by means of thin-layer resistors at calibration in the production, thus it is not possible to change the adjustment at the customer. We recommend using standardized pressure ranges, see the second page of the catalogue sheet, but based on an agreement it is possible to adjust any range within the stated pressures, including symmetric and also asymmetric combinations of underpressure-overpressure.
